    Thanksgiving in Review

    There is a tradition in our town that both high schools get together for a football game. Apparently this tradition is 46 years old and no one was going to let some frigid temperatures stand in the way of tradition. Thankfully the town supplied warming busses for spectators, although the temperatures didn’t plunge too much until the wind began towards the end of the game. Every year we have discussed going to the game, but it wasn’t until our daughter started at the school and joined marching band that we actually made it.  I have to say that it is a great way to spend Thanksgiving morning (provided you are…

    Menu Monday

    Happy Monday, everyone! We are in full Oyster Festival mode here but I am trying my best to cook at home rather than succumbing to Oyster Fest exhaustion every night. Fingers crossed! Mid Week Menu

    So I may have missed Monday altogether but, in my defense, it was a very busy weekend capped off by a week of appointments. But we really need groceries so I am sitting down with a calendar and trying to plan out for the next three weeks or so. Better late than never. Thursday ~Mostaccioli-Spinach Bake (recipe here) Friday ~ Dinner at the German American Club Saturday ~ Stuffed Pepper Casserole (recipe here) Sunday ~ TBD (Concert at the Beach)

    I’m joining Karen at Pumpkin Sunrise for her weekend posts, and maybe I’ll finally resurrect this poor blog of mine.  How many times have I said that? We have been in that end of vacation fog here. We got home yesterday from Cape Cod and today was an equally lazy day. No complaints here! We have stayed in Chatham in years past, but this year headed to Brewster. Our plans were a bit up in the air waiting to find out when Addison would be back from Germany. Brewster was a welcome, quieter escape. (Of course we did go to Chatham for some shopping.) We ate way too much fried…

    Menu ~ March 12, 2018

    This year is slipping by me. We’re so very close to spring and I can’t wait. I am a fan of winter (aren’t most knitters) but I am ready for green lawns, flowers, and a little more warmth. Not a lot, though. There is a reason I moved to New England from Virginia. Our week is shaping up to be a busy one. We have houseguests for the next two weeks, in addition to the usual craziness. I definitely needed a menu plan and need to stick to it.   Monday – Pot Roast in the crockpot. I love my crockpot. I don’t use it during the summer but during the…

    Home Tour :: Living Room

    Follow my blog with Bloglovin Well, living room might be a tad off as far as descriptions go. It’s really more of a reading room, piano room, soon to be DAR room. A friend from school had a brilliant idea I  borrowed to turn her living room into a reading room and it was the perfect solution for this space that was quickly becoming the staging area for the rest of the house. It’s far from perfect but it’s much, much better than it was. This room is fairly small so too much furniture was definitely going to overcrowd the space. As usual, Grey and I were not in agreement…
